On the Green Building Council of Australia rating scale, a 6 Star rating represents world leadership and this level of sustainability is exceedingly rare in historic refurbishment projects like the one undertaken to restore Shell House. Refurbishing a heritage building not only returns a historically significant building to the city, but is also significantly reduces material waste and demolition costs.
