Welcome to the new centre of gravity for the Sydney CBD. The Menzies Bar at Shell House. A ground floor Bar and Bistro in the heart of Sydney. Paying homage to the legendary Menzies Hotel, The Menzies Bar is a true labour of love, where obsession with history, hospitality & good times are woven together to deliver a bar legitimately unique to the Sydney CBD. Wrapping the bustling corner of Carrington and Margaret Street, the European inspired bar & bistro will showcase a menu of snacks, smaller & larger plates, along with a show stopping cocktail selection & a thumping wine list, available all day & late into the night.
Culinary Director, Joel Bickford & his team have worked to deliver a bistro style menu, inspired by the grand European bistros. Anchoring classic European dining with a contemporary edge, the menu comprises shared & large plates, from lunch to dinner, snacks & supper.
You may choose to visit us at lunch and begin your meal with snacks of La Stella Burrata, Spanner Crab Crumpets, Swordfish Crudo or Natural Oysters. Step up to a delicious serving of Spiced Fried Kingfish Collar, Spaghetti Vongole & Bottarga, Roasted Spatchcock or a (400gm) Boneless Ribeye, pairing it all with a cracking wine paired beautifully by their Wine Director Shun Eto.
By night, begin with a signature In-Cider Trading or the Gunslinger Spritz by Bar Manager Josh Reynolds (Scout, The Dolphin Hotel).
